On Thursday, 20 June 2024, doq Pty Ltd celebrated its fifteenth anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its mission to bridge the gap between Japan and the World. The event, held at their office based at Jones Bay Wharf, brought together clients, industry partners, and valued guests to celebrate fifteen years of successful collaboration and cultural exchange.
With over 100 attendees, the anniversary celebration was an opportunity for doq to express gratitude to its clients and representatives from Japan and Australia’s marketing industries for their unwavering support. The evening was filled with appreciation, networking, and entertainment, embodying the theme “和 Harmony,” a concept inspired by the doq team, signifying the harmony between Japanese and Australian cultures, as well as the strong relationships forged with clients over the years.
The celebration began with opening remarks by Shuichi Tokuda, Consul-General of Japan in Sydney, followed by special speeches from notable figures, including David Whatley, Director of Yakult Australia, and renowned chef and TV presenter, Adam Liaw. Yoshinori Sakuno, founder and group managing director of doq, reflected on the agency’s journey from its inception, emphasising the importance of fostering relationships with both clients and the talented individuals behind the work. He highlighted the transformative fifteen-year journey of producing successful campaigns and building meaningful connections. Sakuno expressed gratitude for the trust clients place in doq, considering the team an extension of their own, and emphasised the agency’s commitment to expanding its international presence through strengthened partnerships in the coming years.
Following the speeches, guests were treated to a dynamic Taiko drum performance by YuNiOn, which added a vibrant cultural touch to the evening. Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed networking sessions and a delicious spread of food prepared by the Masuya restaurant group. In addition, the special video messages from Shingo Yamagami, the former Ambassador of Japan to Australia, and Yoshiharu Hoshino, CEO of Hoshino Resorts, also livened up the event.
The evening culminated in a thrilling lucky draw with prizes generously provided by Masuya, underscoring doq’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural relationships and delivering exceptional value to its clients.
